Explorer, Silverburst, Exclusive
Explore the possibilities When it first launched in 1958, the Explorer™ was way ahead of its time. Initially met with mixed reactions, its bold design and commanding tone eventually won over players. By the 1970s, its futuristic look became a favorite among rock icons, and it has remained incredibly popular ever since. Now, you can unleash that iconic attitude with the new Epiphone Explorer. Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, it is built for players who want power, precision, and modern performance. The Explorer features a mahogany body with the now-famous Explorer silhouette, which is very comfortable and balanced to hold and play. It is paired with a glued-in mahogany neck with a fast-playing SlimTaper™ C profile. The neck is equipped with a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and simple pearloid dot inlays. The fretboard radius is 12”, making it ideal for both playing chords and string bends without the risk of them fretting out. The iconic Explorer headstock features the Epiphone logo inlaid in mother of pearl and is outfitted with high-quality Grover® mini six-in-line tuners and a Graph Tech® nut, ensuring excellent tuning stability. The other ends of the strings pass over a fully-adjustable LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and anchor to a LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece, delivering excellent sustain. Powering the Explorer are a set of Epiphone’s acclaimed ProBucker™ humbucker™ pickups, with a ProBucker 2 in the neck position that is perfectly matched to a somewhat hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge position. Each pickup is connected to its own volume control, so you can blend them together in any ratio you desire, and a master tone control and three-way toggle pickup selector switch round out the controls. All three rotary controls use high-quality CTS® potentiometers. The Epiphone Explorer is perfect for every player and every stage. It is packaged in a premium gig bag for protection and portability, so it’s ready to join you everywhere you go. Explore the possibilities of this legendary solidbody for yourself, and discover why so many legends have rocked the Explorer.
