1942 Banner J-45 Reissue, Ultra Light Aged, Vintage Sunburst
Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged Banner J-45 This Gibson Custom Select 1942 Banner J-45™ features Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging, a level of aging that is not available through Gibson’s normal lineup of guitars. This guitar is also available with and without an L.R. Baggs™ HiFi pickup system. Gibson Custom Select offers guitars with unique features that are not found on production models. These customizations can include unique finishes, customized hardware, special electronics, and much more. The premier features of this 1942 Banner J-45 are Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging and the option for a pickup system. The Gibson J-45 is a slope-shoulder dreadnought design beloved by singer-songwriters for nearly 100 years. This model has undergone many iterations over the decades, but its core has remained the same. The slope-shoulder design with simple dot inlays, no neck binding, and a spruce top with mahogany back and sides has been the core identity of the J-45 since its inception. Due to its size and 24.75-inch scale length, the guitar is equally well-suited for both strumming chords with a pick as well as fingerstyle playing. From the folk revival of Greenwich Village and Laurel Canyon in the 1960s to the singer-songwriters of today, the J-45 has remained a trusted companion for musical legends across generations. This Gibson Custom Select 1942 Banner J-45 features Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging, a level of aging not previously offered on any acoustic guitar. The lacquer used to achieve the weather checking is thinner than what is used on other Gibson acoustic guitars. Since this lacquer is thinner, it will age more over time and with use; the guitar will age like a vintage guitar from the Golden Era. This Banner J-45 is also available with or without an L.R. Baggs HiFi pickup system. This is the first time a Murphy Lab Aged acoustic guitar is available with a pickup system directly from the craftory. The L.R. Baggs HiFi pickup is a two-sensor, non-invasive pickup mounted internally to the guitar’s bridge plate. This pickup system accurately reproduces the guitar’s natural sound without altering its true acoustic tone. The Gibson Banner J-45 is a legend in the acoustic guitar world, and this Gibson Custom Select addition stays true to the original recipe with some extra seasoning that enhances the guitar. Choose between an acoustic and acoustic-electric version of this legendary instrument. Included with the guitar is a Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity and a hardshell case.
