Explorer 70s with Gold Hardware, Vintage Sunburst, Exclusive
A 70s rocker, dressed up in gold hardware The radical, angular, and aggressive shape. The expressive, powerful sound. The swagger you feel, and the way you look when you strap one on. There’s nothing in the guitar world that can quite compare to the sheer awesomeness that is the Gibson Explorer™. In the hands of rock and metal players, it has been responsible for some of the world’s most beloved music. The Explorer’s futuristic shape was so far ahead of its time when it was first released in 1958, it took a while to catch on, but by the 70s, the model came into its own and in the years since, has become an instantly-recognizable musical and cultural icon that has been the muse of countless guitarists. Now, Gibson is excited to introduce a new version of the Explorer 70s, with gold-plated hardware. The Explorer 70s with Gold Hardware includes all of the features that have made the standard Explorer 70s so popular. It has a mahogany body that delivers warm, midrange-focused tones paired with a fast-playing mahogany neck with a comfortable SlimTaper™ profile. The bound rosewood fretboard features a 12” radius for easy chording, low action, and string bends that won’t fret out. The fretboard also features 22 smooth-playing medium jumbo frets and is adorned with acrylic dot inlays. The Explorer 70s with Gold Hardware is equipped with a set of uncovered 70s Tribute humbucker™ pickups that deliver everything from pristine cleans to powerfully overdriven tones when you crank up your amp. Each pickup is hand-wired to its own volume control, allowing you to dial up just the right balance. A master tone control with an Orange Drop® capacitor, a three-way pickup selector, and a 1/4” output jack complete the electronics. The gold hardware includes a set of high-precision Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, a fully adjustable aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, and an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. A Graph Tech® nut, paired with the Grover tuners, ensures solid tuning stability. Packed in an included hardshell case for safe storage and transport and presented in a rich, gloss Tobacco Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish that complements the gold hardware, the Explorer 70s with Gold Hardware looks as great as it feels and sounds. Put an Explorer 70s with Gold Hardware in your hands and see what it can inspire in your playing and music today.
