Chambered Les Paul Custom with F-Holes This Gibson Custom Select Les Paul™ Custom with F-Holes features a solid maple top with f-holes, a chambered mahogany body, and a special Champagne Sparkle finish. Paired with the flashy sparkle-finished top is a sleek Ebony-finished back. Features such as these on a Les Paul Custom are only possible through Gibson Custom Select and Made to Measure. Gibson Custom Select is a collection of guitars with cool and unique features such as special electronics and unique finishes. These features are hand-picked by Gibson’s experts, and these guitars are made in the Custom Shop in small batches. The Les Paul Custom has its origins in the 1950s, and this modern interpretation of the Les Paul Custom stays true to the core design elements. The Les Paul Custom model has evolved over time to accommodate the modern player’s needs with features like a Medium C-Shape neck profile and 490R and 498T pickups. Les Paul Customs from the Modern Collection have a mahogany body with a maple cap, unlike the original design from the 1950s where the body was made from a single piece of mahogany. Appointments like multi-ply binding on the top and back, the split diamond inlay on the headstock, and mother-of-pearl block inlays carry the original aesthetics of the Les Paul Custom. Featuring the same F-holes that are found on the ES™ guitars, this Les Paul Custom brings a unique look, feel, and sound to the famous model. The chambered mahogany body not only sheds some weight off the guitar but prominently showcases the construction through the f-holes. This chambered construction takes inspiration from guitars like the ES-335, known for their semi-hollow design. While the ES-335 is made from layered maple and poplar with a solid center block, this Les Paul Custom still has a solid mahogany back like a normal Les Paul, but with some material removed from the treble and bass sides of the body. To make this guitar truly stand apart, it features a Champagne Sparkle finish and nickel hardware. The typical gold hardware was replaced with nickel hardware to accent the flashy sparkle finish on the top. The back of the body, as well as the neck, are finished in Ebony to contrast with the vivid top. Features like these are only available through Gibson Custom Select and the Made to Measure program, which makes this guitar one rare bird. Included with the guitar is a Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity and a hardshell case.
